Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject resin excellent in environmental pollution and useful for rigid foams, etc., without destroying the ozonosphere by reacting a specific active hydrogen compound with a polyisocyanate compound in the presence of a specified low boiling point hydrofluorocarbon foaming agent.

CONSTITUTION: An active hydrogen compound such as a polyether polyol having two or more active hydrogen-containing functional group reactive with isocyanate groups is reacted with a polyisocyanate such as tolylene diisocyanate in the presence of 2-methyl-2-fluoropropane preferably in an amount of 20-60wt.% (based on the active hydrogen compound) to give the objective compound.
