PURPOSE: To realize simultaneously labor saving and an improved yield of material by using a coil material for a blank material and feeding continuously and progressively the material and forming said material by TR forging.

CONSTITUTION: A flat part M1 and narrow parts M2, M2 before and behind the flat part are formed to a blank material M in the 1st working position P1 and thereafter the material M is advanced by one pitch, in the 1st upsetting stage (a). A rough finish forged part F1 protruded into an X shape is formed at the center of the part M1 in the 2nd working position P2 and the flat part M1 is formed in the 1st working position, then the material is advanced by one pitch, in the 2nd rough finishing stage (b). The part F1 is more precisely forged in the 3rd working position to form a finish forged part F2 and the part M1 and the part F1 are formed in the positions P1 and P2, then the material is advanced by one pitch, in the 3rd finishing stage (c). A finish forged part F2 is blanked to a prescribed contour from the part M1 and is dropped as a gorged journal joint F in the 4th trimming stage (d). The part m1 in the flat part M1 remaining after blanking is cut at the position P5, in the 5th cutting stage.
