Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the title high purity compound in a simple way in a powdery form by heating a lactose, etc., in an anhydrous state in the presence of an inorganic acid.

CONSTITUTION: The objective compound can be obtained by heating a lactose (pref. α-lactose, balanced lactose or β-lactose) (plus galactose) in an anhydrous state in the presence of an inorganic acid (pref. hydrochloric acid) at pref. 100-200°C.
