Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a gas diffusion electrode raw material which does not use water and surfactants, thereby can attain cost reduction owing to device miniaturization, can also contribute to energy- saving and further can reduce manufacturing time.
SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing a reaction layer raw material or a gas supply layer raw material of the gas diffusion electrode, gas diffusion electrode materials except polytetrafluoroethylene are dispersed into a water-soluble organic solvent, the dispersed liquid is mixed with polytetrafluoroethylene dispersion and is mixed. It is desirable that the organic solvent is selected from a group composed of methanol, ethanol, isopropyl alcohol, ethylene glycol, glycerine and acetone.
