PURPOSE: To easily obtain a large amount of the subject substance having platelet coagulation inhibiting action, hyperlipemia ameliorating action, etc., by extracting a tissue culture product of Panax ginseng.
CONSTITUTION: Tissue culture product of Panax ginseng is dried and extracted with aqueous ethanol of 50% concentration at 70°C for 1hr. The extracted liquid is concentrated under reduced pressure and the extract is dissolved in a small amount of 50 wt.% aqueous ethanol. A PS resin is added to the solution and the solution is concentrated under reduced pressure to effect the adsorption of the objective substance to the resin. The adsorbed substance is subjected to column chromatography and then preparative high-performance liquid chromatography to obtain the objective substance of formula.
