Title:
PRODUCTION OF GOLD AND PLATINUM BY ANTIMATTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS59157231
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To manufacture gold and platinum from elements having the proton number larger than the proton number of gold by bringing antimatter such as antiproton and if necessary, positron, antineutron or the like into reaction with the atom of the element having the larger proton number than gold.

CONSTITUTION: When one antiproton is acted with an element having a larger proton number than gold having 79 proton number, for example, a mercury atom having 80 proton number, one proton of the mercury is annihilated and the proton number of mercury attains equal to the proton number of gold. The one electron on the outermost orbit is annihilated by using spontaneous discharge or one positron. The excess neutrons are further spontaneously decayed in order to make the neutron number the same as the neutron number of the gold atom or the two or three neutrons are annihilated by using an antineutron to convert the mercury to have the same atoms as those of the gold. Platinum having 78 proton number is manufactured from mercury or gold and platinum are manufactured from lead having 82 proton number by the method similar to the above- described method. Gold is formed by colliding the antineutron accelerated at a high speed against the mercury atom and inducing the phenomenon reverse from the beta-decay.
