Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of pinholes by previously adding a carbonate to green sand at the time of molding the green sand mold for casting by utilizing the used green sand.
CONSTITUTION: The green sand mold formed by previously adding the carbonate to the green sand is used in the case of molding by utilizing the used green sand cast by using an exothermic agent for a riser as a part of green sand mold material, by which the generation of the pinholes is prevented. The green sand mold formed by adding the carbonate and coal powder to the green sand mold recovered from the green sand mold used for casting is used by using the exothermic sleeve for heat retaining of the riser. For example, ductile cast iron is poured into the green sand mold formed by adding 1% calcium carbonate to the green sand mold generated with the pinholes on its casting surface. As a result, the generation of the pinholes is prevented and the consumption of the coal powder is decreased.
