Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the gelatinization of a slurry contg. alkali silicate glass and acrylic resin, increase the filling rate of a green sheet, prevent the cracking of the sheet and to enhance the production yield of the sheet by restricting physical properties of the alkali silicate glass at the time of producing the green sheet from the slurry.
SOLUTION: A binder made of acrylic resin and a solvent are added to a powdery mixture of alkali silicate glass powder with ceramics powder to prepare a slurry and this slurry is molded in a sheet shape to produce a green sheet. At that time, the BET specific surface area of the alkali silicate glass powder is regulated to 0.5-3m2/g and the water content to ≤15,000ppm. The acrylic resin has carboxyl groups as functional groups.
