Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prepare a heating element compsn. having a positive resistance- temp. coefficient at a low cost by mixing a specific particulate conductive compsn. with a crystalline resin. CONSTITUTION:A crystalline resin (e.g. low-density polyethylene) and conductive fine particles (e.g. carbon black) are mixed while adding a crosslinker (e.g. dicumyl peroxide) thereto. The mixture is then heat treated to complete the crosslinking, ground, washed with a boiling pure water, and dried to give a particulate conductive compsn. The compsn. is mixed with the crystalline resin and molded to a desired shape.
