Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hydrogenase capable of producing hydrogen during anaerobic incubation of a transformed blue-green algae in which a hydrogenase gene was introduced, by culturing a specific blue-green algae and forming and accumulating the hydrogenase in the cells.
SOLUTION: This hydrogenase is obtained by culturing a blue-green algae, for example, belonging to the genus Synechococcus in which a recombinant vector was introduced which has an exogenous hydrogenase gene having Shine- Dalgarno sequence consisting of AAGGAA upstream a hydrogenase structural gene from a microorganism such as Clostridium pasteurianum followed by forming and accumulating hydrogenase in th cell. It, is preferable to produce the hydrogen by culturing the blue-green algae, into which the recombinant, vector was introduced. under the light.
