Title:
PRODUCTION OF HIGH-OCTANE-NUMBER GASOLINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3469625
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject gasoline without pretreatment by bringing a naphtha feedstock into contact with a catalytic reforming catalyst to form a light, middle and heavy fractions and introducing the fractions into an alkyl conversion stage 2 for improving the properties of the heavy and light fractions.
CONSTITUTION: A naphtha feedstock from a pipe 11 is introduced into a reforming stage 2 where the feedstock is brought into contact with a catalytic reforming catalyst to effect catalytic reforming, next the effluent recovered from a pipe 21 is introduced into a separation stage 3 to separate the effluent into the three fractions, namely, a light fraction 32 being rich in benzene and having a boiling point of 90°C or below, a middle fraction 32 having a boiling point in the range of 90-180°C and a heavy fraction 33 having a boiling point of 180°C or above. Part of the light fraction is mixed with part of the heavy fraction, and the mixture is introduced into an alkyl conversion reactor 4 packed with an alkyl conversion catalyst. The effluent from this stage is transferred through a pipe 41 to a separation stage 3 to recover a more important middle fraction 32 to obtain a high-octane-number gasoline without subjecting the naphtha to a pretreatment stage.
