To provide high purity aluminum foil for obtaining electrode foil for an electrolytic capacitor having high capacitance.
An aluminum ingot having ≥99.97% purity is prepd. This ingot is subjected to hot rolling under the condition of 99.3 to 99.8% hot working ratio. After that, cold rolling, process annealing, finish cold rolling and final annealing are executed. The total cold working ratio in cold rolling and finish cold rolling is preferably controlled to ≤97%. As for the concrete producing method, an aluminum ingot having ≥99.97% purity and 400 to 600 mm thickness is prepd. This ingot is subjected to hot rolling to obtain a hot rolling finished sheet having 1.3 to 2.5 mm thickness, which is thereafter subjected to cold rolling to obtain a cold rolling finished sheet having 0.09 to 0.15 mm thickness. This cold rolling finished sheet is subjected to process annealing at 190 to 250°C. After that, the sheet is subjected to finish cold rolling at 10 to 25% cold working ratio and is finally subjected to final annealing at 500 to 580°C.
