Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject compound useful as a production raw material for fine chemicals, etc., in high efficiency with simple reaction without using a fractionating column by converting an alkyl-substituted benzene in benzene to a high-boiling substance and distilling the product.
CONSTITUTION: The objective compound can be produced by converting alkyl- substituted benzenes (e.g. toluene) in a crude benzene to substances having high melting points by acylation and distilling the product.
