Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the subject resin having high water-absorption and suitable for diaper, sanitary goods, etc., without using flammable solvent by crosslinking a powdery water-absorbing polymer compound having carboxyl group, etc., with a specific crosslinking agent in the presence of water and a fatty acid amide, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective resin can be produced by crosslinking a powdery polymer compound having carboxyl group and/or carboxylate part (e.g. saponified vinyl acetate/acrylic acid ester copolymer) with a crosslinking agent having >=2 functional groups reactive with the water-absorbing polymer compound (preferably aluminum hydroxide gel) in the presence of water and a fatty acid amide (preferably stearic acid amide) or a fatty acid monoglyceride (preferably stearic acid monoglyceride).
