PURPOSE: To provide the simple process for production of the hologram having excellent chemical stability and environmental resistance characteristic, an excellent sensitivity characteristic, high diffraction efficiency, excellent transparency and high resolution.
CONSTITUTION: This process for production of the hologram has a first stage for subjecting the hologram recording medium formed with a photosensitive film by holding a photosensitive material for hologram recording contg. a combination of a high-polymer compd. (A), a compd. (B) contg. at least ≥1 pieces of polymerizable ethylenic unsatd. bonds, a pyrilium salt or thiopyrilium salt deriv. (C) and diaryl iodonium-org. boron complex (D) between an optically transparent base material and an optically transparent protective film to exposing to interference patterns of radiations, a second stage for removing the unpolymerized radiation polymerizable material from the recording medium and treating the recording medium with a solvent which swells the medium and a third stage for bringing the recording medium into contact with a solvent having poor solubility and swellability to the recording medium.
