PURPOSE: To adjust the rigidity of a steel to be subjected to heat treatment which is important as workability and operability by a trace tolerance or to correct it by a simple means.
CONSTITUTION: In the method for producing a hot rolled steel strip with adjusted rigidity, a steel contg. 0.04 to 0.06% carbon, ≤1% silicon ≤1% manganese, 13 to 18% chromium, ≤2% nickel, and the balance carbide formers and iron with impurities due to melting is melted, and the actual content of carbide formers is set within prescribed limits. A rolling oversize for a subsequent hot rolling is calculated in accordance with the actual content of carbide formers, and the hot rolled steel strip is solution annealed at 920 to 1,050°C and quenched to a ferritic-austenitic structure and cold rolled down to the prescribed final thickness.
