Title:
PRODUCTION OF HOT ROLLED STEEL STRIP DIMINISHED IN SCALE DEFECTS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5848623
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a hot rolled steel strip diminished in scale defects at economized electric power and water by rolling a heated blank material roughly without rough descaling and descaling the material by high pressure water on the inlet side of finishing mills.

CONSTITUTION: In continuous hot rolling, a blank material is roughly rolled without descaling by high pressure water during the time since discharging from a heating furnace till the end of the rough rolling. On the inlet side of finishing mills, the material is descaled by high pressure water at about ≥90°C, and is then subjected to finish rolling. By said method, the hot rolled steel strip is obtained with less surface defects occuring in remaining scale. Since there is no temp. drop by rough descaling, the fuel for heating is economized.
