Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a hydrophilic fluoroplastic porous membrane having high hydrophilicity and excellent durability and excellent in chemical resistance, solvent resistance and heat resistance by grafting and crosslinking a specific hydrophilic monomer in the pores of a fluoroplastic porous membrane to fix the same to said pores.

CONSTITUTION: A solution of tertiary or quaternary amine containing a structural formula CH2=CR1-(wherein R1 is H or a 1-5C alkyl group) or a hydrophilic monomer containing groups represented by structural formulae CH2=CR1- and -CH(R2) (R) (wherein R2 and R3 may be same or different and are a 1-5C alkyl group) is infiltrated in the pores of a fluoroplastic porous membrane and irradiated with ultraviolet rays to graft and crosslink the hydrophilic monomer.
