Abstract:
To provide a method for producing the subject glycol ester in a continuous way, simple in operation.
An aqueous solution mainly containing hydroxypivalinaldehyde is reacted in a reaction column under a pressure of 20-200mbar at an overhead temperature of 80-150°C. Subsequently, the resultant mixture comprising low- boiling components is distilled off via the overhead and the remaining hydroxypivalic neopentyl glycol ester is extracted via the column bottom.
