Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce neutral or weakly acidic aq. hypochlorous acid soln. from a concd. aq. sodium hypochlorite soln. by electrodialysis.
CONSTITUTION: An aq. soln. of sodium hypochlorite is used as the production original soln. An electrodialytic cell 11 provided with a first compartment R1 divided by an ion-permeable diaphragm 11b or a permselective membrane selectively permeable to cation and wherein an anode 11d is arranged, a second compartment R2 divided by a permselective membrane 11c selectively permeable to cation and wherein a cathode 11e is arranged and a third compartment R3 formed between both compartments R1 and R2 is used as the electrodialytic cell. The production original soln. is circulated through the third compartment R3, water is circulated through the compartments R1 and R2, and electrodialysis is performed.
