Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a large particle-sized ice crystal having a uniform particle diameter from a high concentration solution by feeding a seed ice crystal of more than a specified % to the total wt. of the solution in the solution, after the solution having a concentration of more than a specified value is cooled to a desired temp.
CONSTITUTION: The solution of ≥0.4mol/l concentration is cooled to a desired temp. and then the seed ice crystal of ≥5% to the total wt. of the solution is fed. The average particle diameter of the seed ice is desired to be ≥ about 500μm. If the average particle diameter is ≥ about 500μm, there is the possibility of production of a large particle size ice crystal. Thus, the start up can be completed in a short time and also the ice crystal having ≥ about 1.5mm average particle diameter and also having a uniform particle diameter can be produced. Then, this method can be effectively utilized for freezing concentration method (or freezing dehydration method) for productions of instant coffee, concentrated juice, and powder milk, treatment of cheese whey, concentration of enzyme, dehydration of pulp waste liquid, fresh water distillation treatment of seawater, etc.
