Title:
PRODUCTION OF IMMOBILIZED ACETOBACTER CELLS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5718986
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: When a gel containing acetobacter is incubated in a liquid culture medium, the medium is replaced at a dilution rate higher than the specific growth rate of free acetobacter cells to increase the acetobacter density at the inside of the gel surface.

CONSTITUTION: A certain amount of acetobacter cells is added to and mixed with an aqueous solution containing a gel base agent and they are formed. The formed gel containing acetobacter cells is incubated in a liquid culture medium wherein the liquid medium is replaced at a dilution rate higher than the specific growth rate of free acetobacter cells not included in the gel base. The incubation is continued until a white to yellow dense cell layer characteristic in the acetobacter is uniformly formed at the inside of the gel surface layer.
