Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the title resin of excellent appearance by radical- polymerizing an aromatic vinyl compound in the presence of a styrene/butadiene copolymer of a specified structure and adjusting the diameter of the rubber particles dispersed in the obtained resin to be in a specified range. CONSTITUTION:An aromatic vinyl compound (e.g. styrene) is radical-polymerized in the presence of a styrene/butadiene copolymer having at least one block styrene section of a number-average MW of 10000-15000, a total styrene content of 3-15wt.%, a vinyl bond content in the butadiene part of 13-30wt.% and a Mooney viscosity (ML1+4, 100 deg.C) of 30-180, and the median particle diameter of the rubber particles dispersed in the obtained resin is adjusted to 0.3-1.0mu.
