Title:
PRODUCTION OF INK FOLLOWER FOR WATER-BASED BALL POINT PEN
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3835775
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject ink follower of which the problem on bubble growth in the ink tube is inhibited with time by adding a thickener to the ink, by applying a specific level of centrifugal force for defoaming.
SOLUTION: An ink follower that has a composition similar to that of usual ink follower for a usual ball point pen filled with a water-based ink is prepared, a thickener is added to the ink follower. Before the ink cartridge tube is filled with the ink follower, a centrifugal force of ≥200 G, preferably ≥350 G, more preferably ≥700 G is applied for about 1 hour to 1 day for defoaming whereby the objective ink follower 30 is obtained. For example, a translucent polypropylene ink cartridge tube is filled with the ink 20 and the ink follower is charged in the cartridge tube. The ball point pen that is filled with the ink follower 30 does not need the application of generally powerful centrifugal defoaming, when the ball point pen is assembled.
