Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an inorganic fiber paper having high heat resistance by dispersing an inorganic fiber and an inorganic binder into water to give a slurry and making the slurry into a paper in the presence of polyaluminum chloride and an acrylamide-acrylate copolymer.
CONSTITUTION: A slurry obtained by dispersing an inorganic fiber (e.g. glass fiber, etc.), and an inorganic binder (e.g. alumina sol, or the like) into water is made into a paper in the presence of polyaluminum chloride and/or an acrylamide-acrylate copolymer to give the objective paper. The amount of the polyaluminum chloride used is preferably 5-20 wt.% calculated as Al2O3 based on the inorganic fiber and that of the copolymer is preferably 0.1-5 wt.%.
