Abstract:
PURPOSE: To stably produce an isocyanurate ring-having polyisocyanate by trimerizing the NCO groups of a diisocyanate monomer, etc., in the presence of a specific tetraalkylammonium carboxylate as a catalyst and subsequently stopping the trimerization reaction.
CONSTITUTION: The NCO groups of at least one kind of isocyanate compound selected from a diisocyanate monomer or the preliminarily urethanized product of the diisocyanate monomer with a mono-trifunctional alcohol are partially subjected to a trimerization reaction in the presence of a tetraalkylammonium carboxylate of the formula (at least one of R1-R4 is ≥C alkyl, and the total sum of the carbon numbers in R2-R4 is 13-50; R5 is 1-18C alkyl, phenyl, benzyl) as a catalyst, and the reaction is subsequently stopped with a catalyst-poisoning substance to provide the objective compound.
