Abstract:
PURPOSE: To efficiently obtain the subject derivative having the absolute configuration of S or R, excellent in stereoselectivity and useful as an intermediate, etc., for thiazepine derivatives, etc., having antihypertensive action by adding a specific SH group-containing compound to a nitro group-containing compound under specified conditions.
CONSTITUTION: A compound expressed by formula II (R2 is heterocyclic ring) is added to a compound expressed by formula I (R1 is alkoxycarbonyl, acyl, substituted methyl or silyl) in the presence of a base such as n-propylamine to provide the absolute configuration of S or the compound expressed by formula II is added to the compound expressed by formula I in the presence of a base and a Lewis acid such as titanium isopropoxide to afford the absolute configuration of R. As a result, the objective derivative expressed by formula III or IV is obtained.
