PURPOSE: To obtain a flame-retardant laminate of high heat resistance by lamination molding of prepregs produced by impregnating a substrate with a composition prepared by incorporating a novolak resin as the curing agent in, as the chief agent, a blend of specified epoxy resin and dihydric phenol followed by drying.
CONSTITUTION: A substrate such as glass cloth is impregnated with a composition prepared by incorporating (A) as the chief agent, a blend of epoxy resin liquid-semi-solid at normal temperature with a molecular weight ≤500 and a dihydric phenol of formula (X is halogen) with (B) as the curing agent, a novolak resin (e.g. novolak type phenolic resin) followed by drying to produce a prepreg. Thence, a plural of said prepreg are brought to lamination molding, thus obtaining the objective laminate.
