PRODUCTION OF LATENTLY RELEASABLE FIBER AND EXTREMELY THIN FIBER SHEET COMPRISING SAME

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled sheet having improved stretchability and drape properties, by forming a sheet using latently releasable fibers made by bonding specific two polymers, treating the sheet with a specific aqueous solution so that the fibers are released and separated into the components at the bonding interface of the polymers.

CONSTITUTION: (A) A polymer consisting of polyamide, polyester and/or polyolefin and (B) a polymer consisting of polyester elastomer, polyamide elastomer and/or polyurethane elastomer are mutually bonded, to form latently releasable fibers which have a bonding interface at least partially connected to the surface of the fiber, are multicomponent fibers of bonding type and releasable with an aqueous solution having <40dyn/cm surface tension. Then, this fibers are processed into a fiber sheet, the fiber sheet is treated with the aqueous solution under the condition and the fibers are released and divided into extremely thin fibers to give the aimed sheet.
