PURPOSE: To produce a light guide sheet in a short time and with cheap labor, by setting down an optical fiber into a space formed between two sheets of wall members to arrange in parallel a number of optical fibers into the space and then injecting an adhesive from above the optical fibers.
CONSTITUTION: A pile-up device 1 is formed with two sheets of wall member 2 set in parallel to each other with a 640μm space secured between the inner surfaces 5 plus two sheets of side plate 3. A number of optical fibers 15 of 400μm outer diameter are put en bloc on an oblique surface 4 of the member 2. Thereafter, the air within a space 6 is absorbed by a vacuum pump 14, and thus the optical fibers 15 are put down into the space 6. After all fibers 15 are set into the space 6, an adhesive made of resin having a low refractive index is injected into the space 6 from above. Thus the fibers 15 are stuck to each other.
