Title:
PRODUCTION OF LITHOGRAPHIC PRINTING PLATE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3736943
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the suitability of an emulsion layer to washing-off at the time of washing and to improve ink receptivity and water retentivity by incorporating a metallic ion chelating agent into a washing liq.
SOLUTION: A lithographic printing plate material with physical developing nuclei between the Al substrate and a silver halide emulsion layer is exposed and subjected to at least development and washing with a washing liq. contg. a metallic ion chelating agent. An aminopolycarboxylic acid, polyphosphoric acid, a monophosphono(mono-, di- or tri)carboxylic acid or a compd. having two or more phosphonic acid groups is preferably used as the chelating agent. The pH of the washing lig. is about 4-9, preferably ≤8, especially preferably ≤8. The washing liq. may further contain a buffer imparting pH 4-7, preferably pH 5-7, e.g. a phosphate buffer, a citrate buffer or a mixture of them.
