Title:
PRODUCTION OF LOWER POLYMER OF ALFA-OLEFIN
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3911751
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce lower polymers of an α-olefin such as 1-hexene in high yield and selectivity while suppressing the byproduction of polymers by continuously polymerizing the α-olefin into a lower polymer using a specific catalyst.
SOLUTION: In the production of lower polymers of an α-olefin, a product prepared at least from (a) a chromium compound, (b) a nitrogen-containing compound selected from an amine, an amide and an imide and (c) an alkylaluminum compound is used as a chromium-based catalyst, and the reaction is continuously carried out while keeping the molar ratio of lower polymers of the α-olefin/the α-olefin in the reaction liquid at 0.05-1.00. The chromium- based catalyst is optionally compounded further with (d) a halogen-containing compound. The ratios of the composition of the catalysts are preferably (a):(b):(c)=1:0.1-10:1-100 and (a):(b):(c):(d)=1:0.1-10:1-100:0.1-20. The lower polymerization reaction is preferably carried out with a stirrer-type flow reactor. The concentration of the α-olefin in the reaction liquid is preferably ≥0.5mol/l.
