Title:
PRODUCTION OF MAGNESIA-CHROME-BASED REFRACTORY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0421563
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve corrosion resistance to slag of a low basicity without impairing conventional advantages by substituting part of magnesia clinker with superfine powdery magnesia clinker having a specific grain size.

CONSTITUTION: A raw material at a weight ratio of magnesia clinker to chrome mineral within the range of (20:80)-(20:80) is burned at a high temperature to provide a magnesia-chrome-based refractory. In the process, part of the aforementioned magnesia clinker is substituted with superfine powdery magnesia clinker, having 0.02mm maximum grain diameter and containing ≥60wt.% superfine powder with ≤1μm grain diameter.
