Title:
PRODUCTION OF MAGNETIC CARD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH08106632
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a multifunctional magnetic card by applying 50 to 60% magnetic powder, a coating material containing 30 to 50% of one of TiO2, CaCO3 and BaCo3 as a white pigment and 1-10% of carbon powder as an antistatic material on a base body.

CONSTITUTION: This magnetic card consists of a base material such as polyethylene terephthalate(PET) 1 and a magnetic recording layer 2 formed on the base body. In this method, 16% magnetic powder (barium ferrite), 16% white pigment (TiO2) and 0.6% carbon are used as the functional material for the magnetic card, and 10% polyurethane binder, 10% vinyl chloride binder, 23% toluene, 23% methylethylketone(MEK), and 0.1% dispersant are used as the film forming component and hardened by isocyanate coupling.
