Abstract:

PURPOSE: To lessen the accuracy of a pattern and to facilitate the production of a titled liquid crystal panel, by connecting in series two nonlinear resistance elements connected to a picture element in a direction where asymmetry to the polarity of voltage-current characteristics is compensated.

CONSTITUTION: The 1st metallic thin film of Ta, etc. is formed on a transparent substrate 8 and then patterned to obtain a reed electrode 9 for oxidation of anode. Then an anode-oxidized film 10 is formed through anode oxidation. The 2nd metallic thin film of Ta, Ni, etc. is formed on the surface of the film 10, and reed electrodes 11 and 11' are formed by patterning. Thus a nonlinear resistance element is formed. Then the area 12 of the nonlinear resistance element (shown by the dotted lines in a figure) is covered with a resist, and the undesired areas of the film 10 and the electrode 9 are etched. Then a picture element electrode 13 is formed with a transparent electrode of a thin film of In2O3, SnO2, etc.
