PURPOSE: To obtain a medical vinyl chloride resin member having a capability of slowly releasing a medicine over a long period of time without causing the thermal decomposition or heat deterioration of the medicine used, by shaping a mixture formed by dispersing a medicine solution-containing porous powder in an organic solvent solution of a polyvinyl chloride resin and removing the organic solvent from the shape.

CONSTITUTION: A porous powder containing a medicine solution in its pores as an essential component and other additives (e.g., plasticizer and stabilizer) are added to a polyvinyl chloride resin solution formed by homogeneously dissolving a polyvinyl chloride resin in an organic solvent and homogeneously dispersed in it to form a homogeneous mixture. This mixture is shaped by utilizing its flow and the formed shape is finally solidified by removing the organic solvent from it by evaporation. Examples of said organic solvents include tetrahydrofuran and cyclohexanone. Examples of said porous powders include silica gel powder, activated carbon and synthetic zeolite. Examples of said medicines include heparin, urokinase, adriamycin, hormone preparations, carcinostatic agents, antiinflammatories and antibacterials.
