Abstract:
PURPOSE:To produce the title resin improved in melt flow, melt spinnability and durability by reacting two dihydroxy compounds with aliphatic or/and alicyclic diisocyanates and applying shearing force to the reaction mixture at a specified temperature. CONSTITUTION:A dihydroxy compound (A) of an average mol.wt. of 500-4000 comprising 30wt.% or above hexamethylene carbonate units [e.g. poly(hexamethylene carbonate) diol]. is mixed with a dihydroxy compound (B) of a mol.wt. of below 500 (e.g. 1,4-butanediol) and aliphatic or/and alicyclic diisocyanates (C) (e.g. 4,4'-dicyclohexylmethane diisocyanate) in a molar ratio in the range: 0.95<=C/(A+B) <=1.10, and the mixture is reacted to obtain a thermoplastic polyurethane resin. Shearing force is applied to this resin at 150-230 deg.C.
