To obtain the subject menaquinone-containing product excellent in light stability and expected to be useful for a remedy and a preventive to osteoporosis by dehydrating, in the absence of an organic solvent, the culture broth obtained through inoculation and cultivation of the menaquinone-7- producing bacteria belonging to Bacillus subtills.
This menaquinone-containing product is obtained by inoculation and cultivation of menaquinone-7-producing bacterial belonging to Bacillus subtilis, e.g. Bacillus subtilis MR-141 (FERM P-14692), in a nutrient liquid medium and by dehydration, in the absence of an organic solvent, of the culture broth obtained after 1-7 day cultivation, by which a product-accumulated quantity reaches maximum one to occur in a paste, wet solid or dry substance state.
