Title:
PRODUCTION OF METAL-CERAMICS COMPOSITE MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH10195559
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To solve the problem that oxides being impurities have not been removed from an ingot (a lump obtd. by uniformly incorporating ceramics power into aluminum metal) or a return material (such as a used composite material, residual dross caused at the time of producing a composite material or the like) in the method for producing a composite material (MMC) of ceramics powder and aluminum metal.

This metal-ceramics composite material is produced by melting an ingot or a return material containing ceramics powder into aluminum metal and casting the molten resulting metal. In this case, the molten resulting metal is subjected to evacuating treatment at 650 to 900°C and at a vacuum degree of ≤20Torr to remove, oxides floating on the surface of the molten metal. Then the oxides-removed molten metal is cast.
