Title:
PRODUCTION OF METAL-CERAMICS COMPOSITE MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH1088255
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To dissolve a problem that, in the case a large parts is produced by an impregnating method in which a metal is impregnated into a preform, pores with >1mm dimension are generated, and since they are concentrated, a strength of a product is drastically deteriorated.

This method for producing a metal-ceramics composite material is the one in which a preform is formed with ceramics fibers or particles as a reinforcing material, and the preform is impregnated with metal as a base material. In this case, the preform is composed of SiC powder having 1 to 100μm average particle size and ≥50% powder packing ratio, and the preform is impregnated with an aluminum alloy of Al-Si-Mg series or Al-Mg series at 700 to 1000°C, which is thereafter slowly cooled in a furnace.
