Title:
PRODUCTION OF METAL-CERAMICS COMPOSITE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH10147826
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To reduce the weight of a metal-ceramics composite composed essentially of aluminum alloy and also to improve the heat resistance of this composite material.

This metal-ceramics composite can be produced by allowing an aluminum alloy as base material to penetrate into a preform constituted of ceramic fibers or grains as reinforcement. At this time, the aluminum alloy is an alloy prepared by incorporating ≥10% Si and ≥1% Mg into Al, and, as to the method for penetrating metal, the aluminum alloy melted at 700-850°C is allowed to penetrate into the preform at ≥50MPa pressure.
