PURPOSE: To readily obtain a metal-coated metal sulfide powder in a short time by giving a mechanical shock to a mixture of metal sulfide powder and a foil-like metal powder which is a coating material for the metal sulfide powder, and applying the foil-like metal to the surface of sulfide powder.
CONSTITUTION: Metal sulfide (e.g. molybdenum disulfide) powder and a foil-like metal (e.g. copper) powder which is coating material for the metal sulfide powder are prepared. These powders are mixed and the foil-like metal powder is attached to the surface of metal sulfide. Then the above-mentioned foil-like metal powder is embedded in the surface of metal sulfide powder by adding a mechanical shock to the mixed powders to coat the surface with the foil-like metal powder.
