Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a metal complex useful as a photocatalyst, an electron functional material, etc., by reacting a specific complex compound with a specific coordination compound.
SOLUTION: A complex compound of the formula: M(A1, A2)(B1, B2) (M is a transition metal element; A1 and A2 are each a bidentate ligand; B1 and B2 are each an anion group) is reacted with a coordination compound of the formula: E(X)(Y)(Z) (E is an element such as S, P, N or the like; X, Y and Z are each an element such as O, N or the like) to give a metal complex being a cation complex of the formula: {M(A1, A2)[E(X)(Y)(Z)]B1}n+ (n is an integer). The complex compound is a racemic compound and is preferably reacted with a chiral coordination compound to give an optical active cationic complex. The reaction is carried out at a room temperature to the boiling point of a solvent. An aprotic solvent, etc., may be cited as the solvent. The ratio of the complex compound to the coordination compound used is 0.1/1 to 1/0.1 as a molar ratio.
