PURPOSE: To obtain a titled metal hot dipped steel plate having desired plating deposition by maintaining a non-oxidative atmosphere in a sealing chamber provided above a plating bath surface, inducing electromagnetic force on the plating bath surface side in the chamber and wipping away the excess molten metal of a steel strip while injecting gas thereto.
CONSTITUTION: The steel strip 4 past a reduction annealing furnace 1 is admitted into a plating cell 2 and after the molten plating metal is deposited thereon, the strip is floated from the cell 2 and is fed to the sealing chamber 9. An electromagnetic force generator 11 and gas injection nozzles 12 provided in the chamber 9 wipe away the excess molten plating metal deposited on the strip past the cell 2 while pushing down the strip toward the plating bath side thereby adjusting and controlling the plating deposition to a prescribed value. The inside of the chamber 9 is required to be filled with a non-oxidative gas contg. ≤5,000ppm 02. As a result, the hot dipped steel plate having the excellent appearance is obtd. at the plating deposition adjusted to the uniform value by the gas injection without the loss of the fluidity of the molten plating metal after the application of the electromagnetic force.
