PURPOSE: To obtain metallic fibers for conductive filler having high mechanical strength and a high shielding effect for radio wave by rotating a pair of rolls formed with discontinuous annular grooves on at least one surface of the rolls and rolling the molten metal ejected to the contact areas of the rolls with both rolls.

CONSTITUTION: A pair of rolls 1a, 1b are rotated at high speed in an arrow direction, and molten metal 2 is ejected toward the contact areas of both rolls from a nozzle 3 above the rolls. Annular grooves 4 having a square, semicircular, V- or other section are discontinuously formed at ≤1,000μ width on the surface of at least one roll. Plastics 7 are sprayed to the outside peripheries of the metallic leaves 5 of high temp. formed to the shape of the grooves 4 by rolling with the rolls 1a, 1b, thereby coating the leaves. If the metal 2 has the temp. lower than the decomposition temp. of the plastics 7, the outside peripheries of the leaves 5 are coated thereon with a plastic layer 7. If the metal 2 has the temp. higher than the decomposition temp. of the plastics 7, only the carbon layer 8 is formed on the leaves 5 or the layer 8 is formed between the leaves 5 and the layer 7.
