In the production method of soap, molten soap is cooled and solidified in a mold having a runner into solid soap S1, subsequently the solid soap S1 having a solidified part S2 corresponding to the runner is removed from the mold, and then the solidified part S2 is cut and removed from the solid soap S1. The solidified part S2 is cut and removed from the solid soap S1 by using a receiving member 73 having a planar contact part, wherein a cutting blade 81 is thrust towards the solidified part S2 from the opposite side of the receiving member 73 across the solidified part S2 while the planar contact part of the receiving member 73 is in contact with the solidified part S2.
