To provide a production method of an aqueous ink composition for a ball-point pen, which causes no blurring or writing failure when filled and practically used in ball-point pens having various ball-point tips, permanently shows a good ink discharge property and is excellent in writing performance, the aqueous ink composition for the ball-point pen obtained thereby, and the ball-point pen containing the same.

In the production method, the aqueous ink composition for the ball-point pen is prepared through mixing of a colorant, water and polysaccharides and a filtering step wherein the filtration accuracy is ≤10 μm. Alternatively, the aqueous ink composition for the ball-point pen is prepared through mixing of water and polysaccharides, a filtering step wherein the filtration accuracy is ≤10 μm and subsequent addition of a colorant.
