Abstract:

To provide a production method of a cellulose-mixed aliphatic acid ester having high degree of substitution, useful as a raw material for an adsorbent, a film, an optical isomer separating agent, or the like, particularly as a photography material, an optical material, or the like, and excellent in optical characteristics.

In the production method of the cellulose-mixed aliphatic acid ester having high degree of substitution, the cellulose-mixed aliphatic acid ester having high degree of substitution, which has a total degree of an acyl group substitution of 2.8 to 3.0, is obtained by reacting a cellulose derivative with an acid anhydride in the presence of a nitrogen-containing aromatic compound and a tertiary amine in a non-acidic solvent.
