Abstract:

To provide a production method of a ceramic honeycomb structure that can produce a ceramic honeycomb structure that has excellent cylindricity.

In an end of one edge face 61 side, a central part in a direction toward another edge face 62 from the one edge face 61, and an end of the other edge face 62 side of a ceramic honeycomb dried body 50, in respective two or more places, outer peripheral shapes A1-A4, B1-B4, C1-C4 of an exterior wall surface of a ceramic honeycomb dried body 50 are measured, outer peripheral shapes A1-A4, B1-B4, C1-C4 are grouped so that three outer peripheral shapes of an outer peripheral shape measured in the end of one edge face 61 side, an outer peripheral shape measured in the central part, and an outer peripheral shape measured in the end of the other edge face 62 side become one group, cylindricity of the ceramic honeycomb dried body 50 is calculated for each of respective groups, measurement places of an outer peripheral shape of the end of one edge face 61 side and the end of the other edge face 62 side of a group in which cylindricity becomes smallest are made finishing processing positions of the ceramic honeycomb dried body 50.
