To provide a production method of laurolactam by means of the Beckmann rearrangement reaction of cyclododecanone oxime, wherein an industrially advantageous production method of easily producing the laurolactam at a high yield is provided.

The problem is dissolved by a production method of laurolactam, performing the Beckmann rearrangement reaction of cyclododecanone oxime in the presence of phosphorus pentoxide and zinc chloride by using a nitrile compound as a solvent. An industrially advantageous method for producing laurolactam of easily producing laurolactam at a high yield, can be provided thereby.
